Dr. Pierson
Dr. Kristen Pierson is a Skagit Valley native and Burlington-Edison High School alum. She grew up on her family farm just north of Burlington, and her childhood was spent playing in the dirt, riding and showing her paint horse, TJ, and caring for any number of pets that at one time or another included cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, and fish. She knew from a very young age she would become a veterinarian someday.
Dr. Pierson attended Washington State University (GO COUGS!) and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in zoology before attending the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated with her doctorate in 2010. Dr. Pierson worked at Chuckanut Valley Veterinary Clinic for several years after completing veterinary school, took some time away after her daughter was born, and returned to CVVC caring for the small animals of our community.
In 2016 Dr. Pierson completed additional training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and acupuncture at the Chi Institute and loves incorporating this alternative modality into her Western medical training. Dr. Pierson also loves dentistry and surgery.
Outside of the office you can find Dr. Pierson spending time with her young family, road cycling, horseback riding, and occasionally, traveling! Her pet family currently includes paint horses Lucy and Tula, miniature horse, Macaroni, a Golden Retriever named Judy, and a feline companion, Fraidy.
